Ever since PulseAudio appeared on my Ubuntu desktop I’ve been telling it to ignore my dedicated music DACs (long story but mostly I don’t want it mixing and resampling and stuff). When I saw that Pipewire appeared, I thought to myself “uh oh”… today I decided to look for some ideas on how to do this now, and LOOK there is your most excellent recipe which worked perfectly.

Thanks again.

I see no difference between RUNNING and IDLE state whatever sound is playing from internal speakers or one of the two monitors is active. I guess I need to deal with additional devices in sound output selection 🙁

Comment on How to Setup an openSUSE chroot by Beren https://blog.zenlinux.com/2011/02/how-to-setup-an-opensuse-chroot/comment-page-1/#comment-103397 Mon, 11 Dec 2017 20:20:42 +0000 http://blog.zenlinux.com/?p=428#comment-103397 Hi! thanks for the info. I used this as a starting point to install opensuse leap 42.3 with latest kde support. the scenario was installing an up-to-date opensuse in my ubuntu lts office machine. i need chroot because as this is a production workstation, i cant put it offline for any fraction of working hours. just a few comments to complete the scheme:
1) I installed latest 42.3 repos from opensuse repos list , https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:KDE_repositories
2) kernels had to be installed,
(chroot jail)$zypper install kernel-default kernel-desktop
3) initrd image had to be created manually,
(chroot jail)$mkinitrd
4) /etc/fstab had to be populated,
5)network had to be properly configured

these steps will give a working opensuse, with ttys only. Lots of configs are yet to be made but its basically a working system.

It’s strong AF.

However, i have had no problems making Boxes/Enclosures in PLA, it’s probably just your settings. After all, it’s IMPACT strength is less but it’s tensile strength beats ABS.

However aside from that, you have to learn to CAD to make anything useful yourself.

I wanted to try and run Skype in a chroot jail.
